Special purchase! These are the last of the tent rugs. They were used as floor coverings down the center of the tents of the Kurdish nomads in South East Anatolia. They are some of the most nomadic weavings we have encountered. Beautiful, sturdy, and very heavy. The long and lustrous wool is hand spun, and the bold patterns are quintessentially Kurdish. We have been aware of these rugs for over 30 years, and have owned many of them. But this is the first we have seen of them in over 10 years. We had thought they were all gone, and then on this last trip we found a collection of 80 pieces. We were permitted to pick 20. Lucky us, and lucky you.
